Kantiléna, the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra’s children and youth choir, took part after two years at the European Choir Games. The competition took place in Riga in Latvia. The choir won in three categories.

In the period 16 – 23/7/2017 the Brno choir won three gold medals in the European Choir Games. The choirmasters Michal Jančík and Jakub Klecker selected from among the current and former members of Kantiléna 49 girl choristers and two boys, who competed with more than 150 other choirs from 36 countries. This year Kantiléna was the only choir from the Czech Republic to participate.

Kantiléna showed its vocal and interpretive skills in the following categories: Youth Choirs, Unaccompanied Religious Music and Mixed, Female and Male Choirs. Following up on the success of the year before last in Magdeburg the ensemble did not pass through the three-round system and was included directly in the select competition - Grand Prix of Nations. The direct approach allowed only one competitive performance in each category. The jury made up of major composers and choirmasters awarded Kantiléna three gold medals.
