Kantiléna is going on a concert tour to the United States.
Nine days, three cities, four concerts. We are preparing for a prestigious American tour, during which we will present mainly Czech authors to the local audience.
The first concert is scheduled for February 11 at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Washington, followed by a performance at the Bohemian National Hall in New York, where the choir will present a wide range of Czech repertoire. Great expectations surround the concert in Philadelphia. "There, we will join forces with the local Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale, a very prestigious choir. We are very much looking forward to this collaboration. Together, we will perform 'Shenandoah' and 'When the Saints Go Marching In' at the end of the gala concert. We are still rehearsing separately, but we will need to sing together on the spot, which I firmly believe will be easy," noted Jančík. The tour will conclude with a concert of sacred music in the Astoria district of New York, featuring works from various eras, ranging from the Renaissance to the present day.
